What it is
A root canal treats infection or inflammation inside a tooth. The soft tissue (pulp) within the tooth can become infected from deep decay, a crack, or injury — causing pain and, if untreated, an abscess. During a root canal, Dr. Romero gently removes the infected tissue, cleans and seals the inside of the tooth, and restores it with a filling or crown. The result: the tooth is saved, and the pain is gone.
When extraction is the answer
Sometimes a tooth is too damaged, decayed, or loose to save. In those cases, removing it is the healthiest choice — relieving pain and protecting the surrounding teeth and gums. We make extractions as gentle and calm as possible, and we'll always discuss replacement options like an implant, bridge, or denture so your smile and bite stay whole.
